DKRTL WYZE was created by Elijah Jones in honor of his late father, Willie Jones - a man who taught him that how you live matters more than what you wear, and that what you wear can still carry what you live by. This page is where that story lives.
The Man
Willie Jones called Albany, New York home. Albany is where he lived, and it is where this brand comes from - the home and the origin of DKRTL WYZE, the ground the name stands on before it goes anywhere else.
He did not leave behind slogans. He left behind a way of moving through the world: lessons taught the way the real ones always are - in how a man carries himself, how he treats people, and whether his word holds. His son was watching. What he saw became the foundation of a brand.
DKRTL WYZE exists because a father lived in a way worth carrying forward. Every piece in this collection is a continuation of that - a name, kept in motion.
The Lessons

Dedication - Show up for the work before the work shows up for you. Dedication is the promise you keep on the days nobody is watching, through the early mornings and the long stretches when quitting would be easier. It is the first letter because nothing else in the name works without it.
Knowledge - Stay a student. Knowledge is respect for the craft - for your own, and for everyone who came before you. It is asking the question, doing the reading, and learning the lesson the hard way when that is the only way it comes. No shortcuts. No pretending.
Respect - Carry yourself like your name means something, and treat every person you meet like theirs does too. Respect is earned in small rooms and kept in big ones. It is how you enter, how you speak, and how you leave people when you are gone.
Truth - Say what is real and stand on it. Truth does not bend for convenience, applause, or the easier road. A man is measured by the distance between his word and his actions - the lesson is to keep that distance at zero.

DKRTL WYZE carries its Albany roots into the world from Charlotte, North Carolina, where the brand operates today. Two cities, one foundation: a father's lessons, worn out loud.
